Enjoy a wonderful view of Sinntal Valley and various hiking trails on the Dreistelz. Volker Mountain also offers a charming landscape and beautiful views, as do the Schwarzenfels castle ruins on a 492 m basalt cliff. The Wasserkuppe is, at 950 m, the highest Rhoen peak. Here you can romp to your heart’s content on the summer toboggan run, or seek even bigger thrills hang-gliding or para-gliding. Winter also offers an attractive selection of activities. In the Rhoen region, all roads describe a star leading to the 928 m Kreuzberg, the sacred mountain of the Franconians. This well-know pilgrimage site has some surprises in store, including the home brewed monastery beer and Franconian specialties at the Franciscan Monastery.
